Basic Listing Options
You have four basic listing options: you can post your listing for 30 days, 60 days, 365 days at a time, or you may purchase an annual membership.
Listing Rate Chart
| Number of Days |
Cost per Listing |
| 30 |
$30 |
| 60 |
$50 |
| 365 |
$250 |
The basic cost of listing your rental unit for 30 days is $30 per listing. A 60–day listing is $50 per listing. And a 365-day listing is $250 per listing.
You might want to use the 365-day listing if you are the owner or manager of one or two multi-unit apartment buildings and you do not wish to advertise every apartment unit as it becomes available. Rather, you want a permanent listing of your entire building at all times. Prospective tenants can call for availability. This saves you the trouble of posting a new listing every time a unit is vacant.
Once you reach three or more permanent ads, the annual membership (see below) would be more beneficial to you.
Annual Membership
If you own or manage a larger number of rental units, consider the annual membership. Being a member authorizes you to post an UNLIMITED NUMBER OF LISTINGS, and you may leave them posted as long as you like, as long as your membership is active.
The cost for an annual membership is as follows:
| Membership |
Cost |
| 1-year |
$600 |
If you have three or more apartment buildings that you would like to keep listed at all times, the annual membership is your best choice. Or if you expect to be posting a large number of individual unit listings throughout the year (30- or 60-day), choose the annual membership.
For example, twelve 60-day listings is $600. So if you expect to post more than twelve 60-day listings in a year, you might want to consider the annual membership. Remember that the 30-day and 60-day listing expire after 30 days and 60 days respectively. As a member, whatever listings you post can remain posted for as long as you like.
Note: You do not receive credit when purchasing an annual membership. But you may use any credit existing in your account toward the purchase of an annual membership.
Credit System
sarnia4rent.com has a convenient credit system on the 30-day and 60-day listings which saves you money. No credits are issued under the 365-day listing option or the annual membership. Although, you may use any credit existing in your account toward the purchase of a 365-day listing or an annual membership.
There are two types of credit that you can have deposited on your account:
1) Multiple Listings Credit
Every time you post a listing, you will automatically be issued a 15% credit toward posting another listing if you post it within 60 days. 15% of the cost of each 30-day or 60-day listing you purchase will be issued to your account as a dollar value, with a 60-day expiry.
This 15% is only issued on your after-credit price. So, for example, if you post a 30-day listing for $30, you will automatically be issued $4.50 as a credit to your account, expiring in 60 days ($4.50 = 15% of $30). If you use that credit before it expires and apply it toward another 30-day listing, you will again be issued a credit to your account, this time for $3.83 ($3.83 = 15% of your after-credit cost of $25.50). THIS TYPE OF CREDIT EXPIRES after 60 days.
The second type of credit you can receive is:
2) Early Rent Credit
Suppose you post a 60-day listing, and it gets rented after 40 days. When you delete your listing from the system (or move it to our inactive list), you will receive a credit on your account for 15% of the number of unused days on your listing ($0.15 per day).
For example, suppose you post a single 60-day listing at a cost of $50. If you rent it after only 40 days, and you delete your listing on that day (or move it to our inactive list), you will receive a credit on your account for $3.00 ($3.00 = 15% of 20 days unused). You can use that credit toward the purchase of any listing type the next time you post. This type of credit does not expire, so you may apply it to any future post.
A Note Regarding Pictures
There is no extra cost for uploading pictures with your listing. There is a maximum of five pictures allowed per listing. By default, the first picture you upload will be displayed in the Search Results. That one and the next four will all appear in the Listing Details.
Renewal
You will receive, via email, a reminder to renew before your listing or membership expires so that you can renew without hassle.
Final Note
These prices are intended to be helpful to you without eating up your advertising budget. Remember that it will cost you more than $1200 per year for a permanent 20-words-or-less advertisement in the Sarnia Observer (local daily paper)! On sarnia4rent.com you can post a listing that includes colour pictures of your unit for much less money than that.
